Joseph and Janie find their work to be a great joy and honor. They see their hands as teachers and facilitators, bringing awareness and relief to the physical and subtle-energy bodies. They met in massage school in Boulder Colorado in January of 1986 and have been life and business partners ever since. They have been in private practice in Ashland Oregon since 1989, and have been faculty members of the Ashland Institute of Massage since 1994, teaching both neuromuscular therapy and energy medicine.

Joseph Micketti LMT, NMT, has been fascinated by the human body since his high school years. He initially approached the medical field as an x-ray tech with a degree from Northern Michigan University. After working in hospitals for several years, he recognized the healing power of touch, as well as the power of a person's life force in their own healing. After moving to Colorado, he turned his focus to massage and enrolled in the Boulder School of Massage Therapy. After graduating in 1986, he began his career as a massage therapist, working in Colorado Chronic Pain Clinic, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This included an apprenticeship and was his introduction to the study of neuromuscular therapy. He became certified in Neuromuscular Therapy, St. John Method, shortly before moving to the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon in 1989, and was a member of their teaching staff for four years.

Joseph is dedicated to continuing education and maintains his studies in Neuromuscular Therapy, St. John method, as well as Muscle Energy Technique, Strain-Counterstrain, Quantum Touch, and Energy Medicine.  Beyond health and healing, Joseph is an avid student of permaculture, sustainable living and alternative energy systems.

Janie Chandler LMT,  followed a circuitous path to a career in holistic health. As a young girl, her hands often found themselves working on her family and friend's musculature. Early on she knew that working with people in a healing and transformational capacity would be her forte. Her formal education at Colorado University was focused on the liberal arts, mixed with a healthy dose of travel. In 1987 she graduated from the Boulder School of Massage Therapy. With Joseph, she joined the team at the Colorado Chronic Pain Clinic and began her studies of Neuromuscular Therapy. Since 1999, Janie has studied and trained extensively with Donna Eden in her approach to Energy Medicine, and is an Advanced Certified Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner, as well as a senior member of Donna's teaching staff. 

Janie feels that she stands in the center of a bridge between the shores of left-brain and right-brain, between science and creativity. A bridge between linear, therapeutic massage, and intuitive, expansive energy work.  She has been dedicated to uniting these two seemingly opposite approaches to healing, and her unique blend of deep tissue therapy and energy work accesses healing on multiple levels.  Her continuing studies of consciousness and spirit infuse every aspect of her life - in work and play, equally.
